ELECTRA WOMAN & DYNA GIRL : The Spider Lady

As promised, I watched an episode of Electra Woman & Dyna Girl. I found myself really entertained and enjoyed the episode very much. The Spider Lady is probably the definitive classic of the series having been immortalized in the both the View-Master and H.G. Toys Jigsaw Puzzles.

The sets are surprisingly detailed in this creating a world within the show beyond office buildings and generic hallways often used in these type of things. The quality of the production is surprisingly high. The only part that took me out of it was the spider web net that was actually just a net and had no arachnid properites to it. The over-acting is part of the genre and should be considered when watching the show.

If you've been curious about the show, I advise watching this episode.

Despite the appearance of the villains, they are not associated with Marvel Comics Spider-Man.

  I watched the show all the time. I saw these on the shelf. I secretly desired them. I never dared to ask for them. This was the era, boys didn't play with girls toys. Aside from the Mego Super Gals , Hasbro's 1970s Charlie's Angels would be the only other girls toys I ever really wanted as a kid. (MEGO) CORNELIUS/GALEN - Planet Of The Apes

In 1973 Mego Toy Corp introduced their line of action figures for 20th Century Fox's Planet Of The Apes .  This line would run successfully for almost three years and longer in some foreign markets focussing on characters from the movies and the television series. These fully articulated action figures were in the 8-Inch scale and featured good sculpts and tailored cloth outfits with accessories. First sold on Type 1 bodies in window boxes, and then on Type 2 bodies on blister cards. The line consisted mostly of Apes, but three human characters were also included. Among the Apes were the main bad guys of Doctor Zaius, General Ursus, and General Urko with the (army builder) Ape Soldier. Scientists Cornelius and Zira then rounded out the primates. VIEW-MASTER : PLANET OF THE APES

  Recently I was reunited with a childhood favorite. The View-Master reel set for Planet Of The Apes .  This is the Talking View-Master reel set which I prefer despite not having a Talking View-Master . The packaging is superior to the little envelopes, and I like having the option for sound if I should decide to upgrade. This set is based on the pilot episode for the TV series. I tend to favor watching these on the View-Master Projector like I did as a child, but I also use a standard viewer for daytime. If it isn't pitch black, the projector isn't always practical.
